Kochi : Eighth anniversary celebrations of Kerala Professional Housekeepers Association (KPHA), an association of housekeeping professionals working in star hotels, resorts, hospitals and facility management firms in Kerala was held in Kochi on Tuesday at Gokulam Convention Centre. Adv. M Anil Kumar, Mayor of Cochin, inaugurated the event at a function in the presence of Hibi Eden MP as the Guest of Honor.
More than 200 housekeeping executives, managing directors of various hotels, general managers, purchase manager, engineers from Kerala Engineers Forum working in the hospitality sector attended the event.
The function also witnessed the opening of the Kerala chapter of Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA), the all India body. A panel discussion was also held on waste management, one of the major challenges faced by the state's hospitality industry. Housekeeping executives who have turned entrepreneurs or have been promoted to the post of general managers were honored at the function. Prizes of the bed making, towel art, paper origami competitions for housekeeping staff members held in Munnar and Kochi were also distributed.
