SpazeOne opens fourth coworking space in Kochi; To invest Rs 30 crores

Kochi: SpazeOne, one of the leading coworking space providers in south India. launched its fourth coworking facility in Kochi at the city's Marine Drive on Abad Bay Pride Towers. The 4800-sq ft facility comprising 120 workstations in the first phase was inaugurated by Adv. M. Anilkumar, Mayor of Kochi. James Thomas, Marketing Director, SpazeOne Solutions, said the second phase, with 130 more work stations, will be completed here in 6 months taking the total work stations to 250. He also said the new facility is the first waterfront coworking facility in the state and thus it will have all  other facilities in the premium category. Through the new fully-furnished ready-to-plug-and-play facility, the company targets MNCs, shipping companies, fintech firms among others. The newly opened facility also got the advantage of its proximity to the International Container Transhipment Terminal at Vallarpadam and quick reachability to the Cochin International Airport via the container road.

The newly opened facility can accommodate offices with either 1, 5, 35, 50 or 100 seats with meeting rooms, conference room, high speed internet, power backup, cafeteria and entertainment area. Enough parking space is also available in the tower, James Thomas added. He also said in the second phase, customized private offices will also be made available in the centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Sijo Jose, Property Acquisition Director, SpazeOne said the company will open another coworking facility in Thiruvananthapuram near Lulu Mall. The 18,000  sq ft facility with 300 workstations will be opened in March 2023. Following this,  new coworking facilities will come up in Chennai, Coimbatore and Mangalore and the company is to invest Rs30 cr for 1.20 lakh sq ft facilities in south India in the financial year, he added.

Post-covid, companies are taking their workforces back to the office and in the new scenario, coworking culture is looking up for attractive growth. For both the established corporates and startups alike, coworking space providers offer easy to start in new and emerging markets and tier II cities.

Compared to normal offices, coworking spaces offer value for money and are more cost effective and are also flexible to reduce or increase the number of workforces as and when required. The sector is also to give a boost to the states' burgeoning commercial real estate sector, the company sources said.
